Limits

What we leave unmetered, what we cap, and what happens at the cap. These apply during the 7-day free trial and on the one paid plan. Pricing covers the 30-day money-back guarantee.

Projects
As many as you need, up to a fair-use ceiling of 100. How fair use works

Media

Screenshots and files attached to feedback. The reason for the caps is below: this is a feedback tool, not an image host.

  • Limit

    Storage

    Amount

    5 GB

    What happens

Pooled across every workspace on the subscription. You get an email at 80% and at 100%. When the pool is full, uploads from your visitors pause, with a friendly message.

  • Limit

    Images

    Amount

    5 MB

    What happens

PNG, JPEG, and WebP files up to this size are resized to fit inside a 2560×2560 pixel box and converted to WebP. EXIF and GPS are stripped.

  • Limit

    GIF and PDF

    Amount

    2 MB

    What happens

GIFs and PDFs are stored as uploaded, including animated GIFs. They are not re-encoded.

  • Limit

    Files per post

    Amount

    10

    What happens

How many files one post can attach.

  • Limit

    Unattached uploads

    Amount

    24 hours

    What happens

Uploads that never get attached to a post are deleted after this.

Fair use

Two ceilings that exist so one account can't crowd out the others. They are not a per-voter meter.

Projects
100 per subscription
A fair-use ceiling across the workspaces you pay for. It can be raised on request.
Media bandwidth
30 GB / month
Soft fair use. If you go past it, we reach out. Nothing is blocked.

Rate limits

Short windows that slow a burst down. They are not plan quotas, and they reset on their own. A request past the window is turned away until it opens again.

Billing states

The 7-day free trial includes full access, and no card is needed. After that, access follows the subscription. Cancelling and a failed renewal take different paths.

A renewal fails

  1. Active

The subscription is in good standing.

  2. Past due

Full access continues for 14 days while the renewal is retried.

  3. Read-only

After that grace period, the account is read-only.

You cancel or refund

  1. Cancelled or refunded

You cancelled, or you refunded within the 30-day guarantee.

  2. Read-only

Data stays readable and exportable for 30 days.

  3. Deleted

After those 30 days, the data is deleted.

Why these limits

People open Upvotekit to ask for something, vote, and read what shipped. A screenshot explains a bug. A photo library does not. The 5 GB storage pool is for that first job, shared across your workspaces so the cap is one number, not a per-board allowance to add up.

Photos up to 5 MB are resized to fit inside a 2560×2560 pixel box and saved as WebP, which keeps boards fast and removes location data that was sitting in the file. GIFs and PDFs stay as uploaded, up to 2 MB, because we don't re-encode them. A file that never lands on a post is deleted after 24 hours, so abandoned uploads don't fill the pool.

The project ceiling (100) and the 30 GB monthly bandwidth figure are fair use. Past the bandwidth line, we reach out — pages, votes, and downloads keep working. If the project ceiling is tight for a real product, it can be raised on request.

Rate limits only catch bursts, like a vote button mashed in a loop. They are not how the plan is sized, and they are not a charge.
